21 & 23/02/2012 International Conference of Steel Pipe Pile 2012

On 21 & 23/02/2012 Internation conference of steel pipe pile was held in Hanoi and Hochiminh City by Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC) and University of Transport and Communication (UTC) under conference patronization by Ministry of Transportation (MOT) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Attending the conference are Prof. Tran Dac Su rector of UTC, Prof. Dr. Hoang Ha Director of science of technology Department of MOT, representative of JICA, Masanori Kinoshita-General Manager Civil Engineer Construction Material & Products Development of NSC, consultant and design companies, constructors and about 300 guests in 2 days of conference in both Hanoi and Hochiminh City.

In the conference, we presented application of steel pipe piles technology in bridge design, port and harbor construction in Vietnam. In addition, corrosion and corrosion protection methods of steel pipe piles and steel pipe sheet piles in Japan and joint researching to make a Vietnamese guideline of corrosion protection methods. Besides of the above presentation, Sumitomo Mitsui Corporation and TOA Corporation are Japanese general contractors specializing in bridge and marine construction having speeches of their experiences in application of steel pipe piles in marine and bridge construction for oversea projects encluded Vietnam.
