FECON signed a cooperation agreement with Nippon Steel on application of Japanese steel technology into infrastructure works
On 2nd October 2019, The Signing ceremony of Cooperation Agreement was held at the FECON office regarding on the application of Japanese steel technology into infrastructure works in Vietnam between FECON Joint Stock Company and Nippon Steel Corporation (Japan).
The participants who attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Nishiumi Kenji, General Director, Head of Construction Products Development Div., Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC), Mr. Tokita Yoshifumi, General Director of Nippon Steel Spiral Pipe Vietnam Co., Ltd. (NPV), Mr. Mitsumoto Taizo, General Director of Nippon Steel Vietnam Co., Ltd. (NSV) and other representatives. FECON’s representative were Chairman Pham Viet Khoa, CEO Nguyen Van Thanh and other Deputy General Directors.
According to the signed cooperation agreement, FECON and Nippon Steel Corporation (Japan) will cooperate on the application of steel products such as Steel Pipe Sheet Pile foundation, Steel Pipe Piles, Steel Sheet Piles to the infrastructure projects in Vietnam. Both sides will discuss to identify potential construction projects in Vietnam and use feasible steel structures to apply technology to those projects. Particularly, for NS Eco Pile, together with FECON, Nippon Steel Corporation (Japan), Nippon Steel Spiral Pipe Vietnam and Nippon Steel Vietnam has agreed to apply the technology of this type of pile to each specific project in Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries such as Laos and Myanmar that FECON is pursuing.
Starting the relationship with Nippon Steel in 2011 until now, both sides have opportunity to advance cooperation on the basis of development and applying Nippon Steel’s advanced technology, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (CEO of FECON) highly appreciated the technology and products of Nippon Steel is consistent with infrastructure of Vietnam. The future for application of these technologies and products is massive and the potential of a system of sea ports and river ports in Vietnam are in need of development and upgrading, underground construction projects in urban areas like Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh city has just started its very first steps.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nishiumi Kenji, General Manager, Head of Construction Products Development Div., Nippon Steel Corp. (Japan) believe that with experience and achievement in the field of transportation infrastructure construction, metro and urban environmental infrastructure of FECON, together with superior design and production of diverse steel products, high quality of Nippon Steel with the leading technological advantages developed based on actual market needs will promise the success in promoting the development of ECO-PILE products and other steel products in Vietnam.
